Timothy Daniel

IMG_7912Tim grew up in College Park, MD, and went to St. Mark’s grade school and DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville. He played baseball at both, and went on to the University of Maryland to study Japanese and Marketing.

While spending a year studying in Kobe, Japan, Tim practiced with the Kobe University team.

The possibility of a call to the priesthood crossed his mind in grade school and high school, but it was only at the Catholic Student Center at University of Maryland that Time really began to consider it. Mass homilies, a fall retreat, and much prayer raised the possibility again, and the joy of introducing his Japanese friends to Christianity made it seem all the more likely that he might be called.

Tim finally gave in to the possibility in his senior year, called the Vocation Director and applied to give seminary a shot.

Five years later he is thankful for all opportunities it has afforded him, above all the spiritual growth but closely behind that the great fraternity he has enjoyed with his fellow seminarians.

  1. Deacon Tim,

What a delight to see you on TV last night being interviewed about Pope Francis! I am so pleased to know that your seminary training has continued since you served us at Blessed Sacrament in summer 2008.

You did such a wonderful job organizing the Eucharistic Adoration Committee and were so helpful to us. The little cadre of adorers continues its ministry and I often pray for YOU when I appear for my appointment. May you always spread devotion to the presence of Jesus Christ with us in the Sacrament!

Every blessing to you as you journey toward ordination and beyond. I will keep you in my heart and prayers, as my Discalced Carmelite sister Therese of Lisieux did her ordained friends. God’s abundant riches be with you and your ministry.
    In Christ,
    Carolyn Gwadz, OCDS
